Rockets Red Glare

I am happy to live in the greatest country on the face of the earth. I am proud to be an American. Each day I witness more and more reasons that remind me of why. Today, for instance, I attended a picnic and was able to see parents who have raised their children to honor God and to treat everyone with respect. Kids who say yes sir and yes maam. Young men and women who are capable of carrying on a conversation with others without swearing or using the latest slang. On the way home, my wife and I saw fireworks in every direction as we drove. Small displays and big productions. All impressive. I couldn't help but think of Francis Scott Key as he watched the bombardment of Fort McHenry and wrote the Star Spangled Banner. "And the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air, gave proof through the night, that our flag was still there". We were resilient then and we will be resilient now. We may be bombarded now with negativity in the media, crooked and lying polititians, and congress trying harder than ever to take away or freedoms; but we will endure. Why you may ask? Because we are Americans and there are still parents raising children to honor their elders. There are still men and women willing to die for freedom. There are still people who want to remember our history and the image the founding fathers had for this country. But most importantly, because there are still Americans who know that God is the foundation of this great nation. They pray each and every day for the future of America. Now more than ever, God bless America.

Media Matters

Why is it that the media is not talking about what is going on in the current administration. Bush says something wrong or misquotes someone and he is demonized immediately. Obama calls a Marine Corpsman a Corpse Man and it is treated like a funny side note. He delays a visit Mississippi after the flooding and the coast of Louisianna after the oil spill and nothing is said. And so much for transparency in his administration. There is so much back door stuff going on it is like a brothel in Vegas. And now someone from the administration offered a job to a political candidate if they would bow out of a race. Where is the press? This is Chicago politics at its best. Lets bribe, con, or bully to get our way. Political parties aside, the press has an obligation to the American people to report the news and not what they feel is best for ratings. Someone being asked to bow out of a political race so that the administrations preferred candidate has a better chance is not just news, it is scandal on the level of Watergate. I want to be clear, I am an American and pray for my country every day. In no way is this meant to be an attack on Obama or Bush or Republicans or Democrats. This is simply a plea to the media to report the news without bias and stop treating the President of the United States of America like the second coming and giving him a free pass on things that they would have buried Bush on.

Climate Change?

So the new news is that they have decided to rename global warming. The new terminology is "climate change". Isn't this what most of the conservatives have been saying for years? A great book to read is "The Winds of Change" by Eugene Linden. He explains how the Earth has gone through heating and cooling cycles as part of it's process. This constant change in weather patterns has been a part of the rise and fall of several civilizations as well as integral in the migration of humanity on the planet. The simple fact, we have let climate change and global warming become so ingrained into our psyche that they have become pseudo religions. The Bible cautions us on this: "Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen." - Romans 1:25. The creature in this case is nature or the Earth. The prophets of climate change have been proved wrong already when the statistics they were using were proven to be wrong. They said the Earth is warming up, and in fact it is cooling. They said the polar ice caps are melting and will cause a rise in sea level. Let me point out one very simple, not so scientific example. When you put ice in a glass of water and it melts, does the water level rise? No it is the same because the ice has simply become a liquid instead of a solid. The solid displaceed the liquid before it melted taking up the same amount of space. So the icecaps melting will not cause the sea levels to rise, it is scientifically and naturally not possible. As for the glaciers, that may cause a slight increase, however, there are not enough on the Earth to cause a significant increase in sea level. Of course this is if the Earth was warming, which again I point out, have been disproved. In culmination, be aware of false information, do your own research, and know the facts before jumping in head first. A shallow pool of information can cause a lot of hurt.
